Certainty Is Not the Same as Knowledge with Allen Crostic- BONUS

In this extended bonus episode, we’re welcoming back a returning guest. Allen Crostic has a Masters in Christian Apologetics and as a former agnostic, loves to talk about reasons for faith. In this conversation with March co-host, Lucrezia from Italy and myself, Allen addresses Lu's questions regarding lore, hell, doubt, and Jesus. Allen describes knowledge as being different than certainty and why that matters in regards to faith. We talk about doubt and why he's passionate about apologetics (always being prepared to give an answer with gentleness and respect). We also discuss different types of doubt and skepticism. As in all of our previous episodes with Allen, he also shares the significance of believing in Jesus' death, deity, and resurrection, differentiating between a salvation issue and secondary issues.

"I think what God does for us is He gives us enough evidence so that those who want to find Him can have their beliefs justified but not so much evidence so that those of us who don't want Him are forced to feign loyalty. Because as the old saying goes, 'a person changed against their will is of the same opinion still.' Feigned loyalty is nothing more than rebellion waiting for an opportunity. He wants free lovers."

"Just because you can't have absolute certainty doesn't mean you can't have adequate certainty... Don't get hung up on certainty because if you are hung up on certainty, you can't believe anything."

"I think one of the reasons God gave us a mind is to chase after Him. And I think pursuit is the proof of desire."

"It's not like there's not evidence. You just gotta be hungry to look for it."
