The Finding Something REAL (FSR) weekly podcast shares the radical realness of Jesus Christ with young women who aren’t sure where they are with faith. It seeks to combat the fake news they've heard about Jesus. Most months, a young woman cohosts with me and shares her story. I invite Christian guests to respond to her questions in the following episodes. One of my guests, author Mabel Ninan had this to say about her experience on the show:
God has provided for amazing conversations in the course of creating close to 200 unique episodes. Distinguished guests have sat down to have gracious talks about topics like: identity, historical proof of Christianity, suffering, mental health, and the power of the Gospel message. On and on, one by one, people have lovingly come to share incredible truth with young women.
And some of my questioning co-hosts have been deeply moved. Including Signe from Denmark who cried while she told me she had never really had deep talks with someone about God before. Or Dagmar from The Netherlands. Reflecting on the conversations we had, Dagmar said, “The fact that there's a God out there who would love us even on our worst days, that's just amazing…That part about Jesus dying also for the victimizer... I think for me that's very compelling…”
I am asking for support. FSR is growing. I’ve met one of the top marketers for Christian apologists in the nation. His Christ-centered company, World View Media (WVM), only works with a limited number of people in this field. WVM has offered to work with Finding Something REAL.
Will you help financially? This podcast has been volunteer work for me. Any financial funds I’ve received have gone to paying podcast overhead costs and for an assistant who receives a modest monthly stipend. But there is genuine need for more young women to know there is a place for them to come, ask their questions, and hear answers found in Jesus Christ.
Young people today are drawn in through social media, especially short video clips. These short video clips act like a road that can lead young people to longer, richer content about Jesus. Up until now FSR has been like a beautiful house with no road to it. A road can be built through short video clips and being on the social media channels where young people are spending their time.
A generous ministry, Hub of Hope, has provided a matching gift of $5,000. Thanks to your generous matching support that was received last Fall, I am working with WVM’s team to take FSR content and multiply it–posting shorter consistent clips for young people to access across the internet. The prayer is that this will build a road for more people with questions to find something REAL in Jesus Christ. Season 7 launched in March, 2024. Any funds received will go to podcast operating costs and/or additional work with WVM.
